Job Summary
Artisan seeks a highly motivated candidate based in the New York City area with a background in data analysis and ideally experience with music-royalty related data. The Data Analyst will play a critical role by leading data essential workstreams for executing on a wide range of transactions within the music industry, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic advisory assignments. Artisan is an entrepreneurial and lean organization looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced, growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Synthesize and cleanse various big data structures into a homogenized database that can be leveraged to drive data visualizations.
- Analyze music royalty and music consumptions data to uncover trends and insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across databases.
- Utilize data and market research to help conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis.
- Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends affecting the music industry, and incorporate relevant insights into client deliverables and strategic recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials for client engagements.
- Participate in client meetings, providing analytical support and contributing insights to discussions.
- Support due diligence efforts by analyzing financial and legal information and preparing diligence materials for transactions.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in data, analytics, business intelligence, etc.
- Proficient in programming/coding languages, ideally R, Python, and/or SQL.
- Experience in managing large, aggregated datasets to derive key trends and insights.
- Experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and insights development and delivery.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel (including Power Query).
- Entrepreneurial with a high degree of self-motivation, intellectual curiosity and process-orientation.
- Assertive, adaptable and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and diligence in work product.
