About NCS
At NCS (NoCopyrightSounds), we’re on a mission to soundtrack the internet. For over a decade, our music has been woven into internet culture, from your favorite YouTuber’s intro in high school to now a TikTok dance started by a rat. NCS tracks aren’t just played—they’re remembered.
With the largest community in electronic music, we’ve built a platform where artists break through, fans discover new sounds, and music moves at internet speed.
We started by empowering creators with free-to-use music. Now, we’re driving discovery through TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, pushing music beyond moments into movements.
Role Mission
To ensure the seamless execution and delivery of all music releases by managing operations, timelines, and communication across internal teams, artists, and distribution partners – enabling the label to release music efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
Core Responsibilities
- Own the entire pre-release process and release schedule, coordinating with the A&R team, the Release Coordinator, and artists to ensure key milestones like signed contracts, final artwork, and audio delivery are met.
- Organise and deliver all release assets and metadata to internal and external partners, maintaining accuracy and clear communication across teams.
- Manage the delivery of all releases to DSPs via our distribution partner (AEI), acting as the central point of contact and ensuring smooth, timely distribution.
- Oversee the standard release contract process using our automated system, ensuring agreements are sent and signed on time, and escalating to legal only if amendments are needed.
- Manage digital rights policies, including enforcing takedowns, and addressing fraudulent or incorrect claims in tandem with our distribution partner.
- Maintain and manage the catalogue metadata database, ensuring all data is clean and up-to-date.
Competencies
Required:
- Release & Workflow Management: Track record of managing multiple releases to schedule. Owns the pre-release calendar and ensures all key milestones are hit.
- Communication & Collaboration: Clear communicator across artists, teams, and partners. Skilled at managing expectations and resolving issues calmly.
- Attention to Detail: Organised and precise with metadata, assets, and documentation. Maintains high standards across a busy release slate.
- Distribution & DSP Knowledge:
- Understands DSP workflows, editorial timelines, and delivery requirements. Experienced with platforms like FUGA.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Professional and reliable point of contact for distributors and DSPs. Keeps all parties aligned and moving forward.
- Problem Solving & Adaptability: Calm under pressure, quick to adapt, and focused on practical solutions.
Outcomes
- On-Time Releases: 100% of releases delivered on schedule, with all assets, metadata, and approvals finalised ahead of deadlines.
- Accurate Metadata & Assets: Zero errors in submitted files, ensuring professional standards and full DSP compliance across all releases.
- Seamless Cross-Team Communication: All internal teams, artists, and partners consistently aligned on release timelines, changes, and requirements.
- Efficient DSP Delivery: Releases distributed smoothly across all major DSPs with minimal delays, supported by strong distributor coordination.
- Streamlined Coordination: Reduced back-and-forth thanks to clear systems and documentation, keeping A&R, marketing, and partners fully in sync.
- Full Operational Oversight: An up-to-date and visible release calendar and catalogue database that supports planning, reporting, and accountability.
